It's going to be an epic ride!
We ride for
Energy Outreach Colorado
8th Annual Pedal the Plains
Lamar, Holly, Springfield
3-day ride exploring Southeast Colorado
166-mile ride with century ride option
Colorado's Electric Cooperatives will ride the Pedal the Plains bike tour, an annual three-day ride across Colorado's high plains. A celebration of Colorado cycling culture, this landmark event commemorates the heart of western agriculture and shares the beauty and resources of our great state.
Our electric co-ops help sponsor the tour as well as their own bike team, Powering the Plains. Booths sharing information about electric co-ops will be at various points on the tour as an opportunity to educate people about the cooperative model and keeping electricity affordable.
Why we ride
Our team rides for Energy Outreach Colorado, which provides financial assistance to Colorado's neediest families and seniors for their home energy needs. Colorado's Electric Cooperatives have always been an integral part of the communities they serve. Pedal the Plains is another opportunity to support our members who may need help heating their homes.

About Pedal the Plains
Riders will pedal through Holly, Springfield and Lamar in the co-op territory of Southeast Colorado Power Association. Pedal the Plains is September 13-15 and will bring more than 1,000 people to this part of the eastern plains. This is our chance as Colorado's Electric Cooperatives to share our message with people who may not know much about rural Colorado.
About Ride the Rockies
New this year, Colorado's Electric Cooperatives bike team will be participating in Ride the Rockies. From June 9-15 riders will climb 28,000 feet riding through Crested Butte, Gunnison, Buena Vista, Snowmass, Carbondale, Hotchkiss and Mt. Crested Butte: Colorado's beautiful mountain towns and the co-op territories of Holy Cross Energy, Gunnison County Electric Association, Sangre de Cristo Electric Association, and Delta-Montrose Electric Association.
